For life

In the Open Water course you will take your first steps towards becoming a diver. After the course you will be certified as a PADI Open Water Diver and be able to dive to a depth of 18m with any other diver holding a PADI Open Water Diver certification as well.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consist of 3 parts. Some theory, some exercises in confined water and 4 dives in open water.

In the theory, you will learn about pressure, equipment, the physiology of diving and so much more. You can do the theory the old fashioned way using a manual and watching videos or you can opt for the digital way, using the brand new PADI touch. The theory will be mainly done on your own, while I am there to guide you around the main obstacles and help you where necessary.

In the confined water dives you will learn how to use your dive equipment in a safe environment like a swimming pool or a shallow place with swimming pool like conditions, e.g. from to the beach. You will learn how to remove and put back your regulator, how to remove water from your mask while staying underwater, how to balance yourself in the water and so much more. In the confined water sessions we will make a foundation for you to build on and we will make sure you are comfortable with all your equipment and all the skills before continuing to the open water dives. In the last confined water dive session we will make a simulated dive to help build your confidence even further.

The third and last part of the course consists of 4 open water dives. During each dive you will see and feel yourself grow as a diver. Every dive comes with a few skills, but mostly we will just have fun exploring the underwater world. The last two dives we can go to 18m depth, the maximum depth for a PADI open water diver. After the fourth dive you will be a PADI Open Water Diver, which is title you will hold for life and is acknowledged worldwide.
